(SYMPHYTUM OFFICINALE)
(THESE SEEDS AND ANY PART OF THIS PLANT MAY NOT BE USED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION - Food Standard Australia & New Zealand)
Excellent as a natural plant fertiliser. Tear of leaves and soak in water until fermented and then use the water to feed your plants.
Comfrey has a deep root system stretch down 2m to the sub soil where nutrients would usually wash away. The Comfrey plant captures these nutrients and sends it up to the leaf foliage. Either cutting the leaves and using them as mulch or creating a organic fertilizer are both good organic ways of feeding your garden.
Comfrey is also added to compost as an activator, providing nutrients to your compost system.
